 St Patrick Breastplate Prayer

Christ be with me, Christ within me
Christ behind me, Christ before me
Christ beside me, Christ to win me
Christ to comfort me and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger
Christ in hearts of all that love me
Christ in mouth of friend or stranger.

From the Principal’s Desk-

 St. Gabriel School Community,

With the change in seasons, we have been reminding the students about safety, especially with the melting snow, and rain to stay away from all ‘water’ areas. To show our support for the family of a young boy still missing St. Gabriel will place blue ribbons around the school in remembrance and in support of his family; and to remind us to pray for him to be found. (On February 21st, in a community not far from our own, a young child was taken from his mother’s arms when rushing water swept him away. People have been searching for little Kaden Young since.)

We will pray for Kaden Young.

A PRAYER TO SAINT ANTHONY

Oh glorious Saint Anthony, you who has the gift of recovery,
look upon our urgent community need – a child has been lost.
We seek your heavenly intervention to recover Kaden Young.

Ask God to guide all those who are searching for him.

Please lead them to the location of Kaden so that they may bring him back to his family and give everyone that loves and misses Kaden peace in their hearts.

Saint Anthony, we count on you to help find this precious child of God.

May your name be remembered forever as the Saint who finds all precious things that are missing.

Amen.

MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR

Thursday March 1st. students received the sacrament of Reconciliation.

Hats fort Haiti is Thursday March 8th. Bring a toonie and wear a hat for the day!

“Christ Has Died, Christ has Risen, Christ will come again”

The Easter faith of the Church is summarized in the above acclamation. To proclaim that Christ is risen is to say that God is alive, that God is with us, that God will never leave us. As a parish family we celebrate and seek this peace during the Easter Triduum called Holy Week. In this festival of days, Christ’s saving work is commemorated by the Church with the utmost solemnity. Through the liturgy of the Triduum, the church is intimately united with Christ and shares in His passage from death to life. The liturgies of the Triduum are the way we publicly celebrate the Easter Peace. They commemorate not only the historical events, but celebrate and make present their saving effect for us.

I invite you to come with your family to the celebrations of Holy Week. May our common celebration bring to each one of us a true and lasting sense of peace.

Together in His Service

Father F. Freitas Pastor
