We welcome the return of our Grade 8 students from their Camp Brebeuf Retreat in Rockwood. Thank you to our parents/guardians for their support of our Retreat and to our intermediate team Mrs. Wade, Mrs. Winger, Mr. Lacasse, Mr. Araujo and our chaplain John Schneider. May the light of Christ continue to shine and be our guide in all that we do.
We are excited to showcase the talent at St. Gabriel School as we celebrate the Spirit of Christmas. Our Christmas Concert will be held on Dec. 18th in the gym following lunch recess.
St. Gabriel will have their Advent Family Mass on Sunday, Dec. 2nd at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish.
Thank you to our School Council for hosting our 3rd Annual Christmas Turkey Dinner on Dec. 19th. Please refer to the letter that was sent home regarding its details. Please go to School Cash on Line to make your purchase for our dinner. A BIG thank you to Mr. Heinemann for all of his work and commitment to this event. May the Spirit of the Christmas Season shine brightly at St. Gab’s, the Home of the Wings.
We will be supporting the St. Mary’s Parish Red Stocking Campaign. Each classroom will receive a Red Stocking from Father Freitas. Classes are invited to donate new school supplies to fill up the Red Stocking. Our collection will run from Dec. 3rd to Dec. 14th. Thank you for lending a helping hand.
Our Photo Retake Day is scheduled for Nov. 12th. Please let your child’s teacher know if there is a Retake Photo to be taken of your child(ren).
Families please check out our Lost and Found Tables when you visit the school for Interviews. The tables are in the front foyer of our school. We have many items on the tables.
We look forward to our Parent/Teacher Interviews on Thurs. Nov. 8th. Please see the time of your child’s interview on the confirmation form that was sent home with the Progress Reports. Parents/Guardians will sign the Report at the Interview. Students are strongly encouraged to attend the Interview as this is an opportunity for them to talk about their learning and their progress to date, as well as discuss next steps in collaboration with their parents/guardians and teacher.
A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who helped with our 2018 Dance A-thon!
There were so many people who helped make this a great day for the students and our school community. Many people generously donated their time to prepare for the dance (and didn’t get to see all the smiling faces on the day), but from those of us who had a chance to be there on Oct. 31st in the gym, everyone had a GREAT time, showing their amazing school spirit.
We had 56 items/gift cards that were distributed to our students. Numerous families donated candy jars for the guessing game, gift certificates and amazing items for the prize table. We even had homemade Ghost cookies. Many community businesses and partners made generous donations, and many of our council members and parents donated time to set up for the dance, assisted with the Dance, and helped with the clean up afterwards.
A special thank you to Mrs. Van Buskirk, Mr. Heinemann and Mrs. Brunskill for their leadership, organization and planning of this school wide event.
We raised over $8000 to support our St. Gabriel School Community. Way to go! The funds will be used to support school initiatives.
Together we rocked it!
Thank you St. Gab’s.
