St. Gabriel Catholic School is hosting its very own Winter Olympics!!! On the afternoon of Friday, February 9th, students from Grades JK-8 will be participating in Winter Olympics. The Grade 8 students will be running the events, and the Grade 7 students will be the team captains. The children from grades JK-6 will be placed on teams to participate in a number of fun and exciting events!
The Winter Olympics will begin at 1:00 p.m. with students moving into their pre-assigned teams. Teams will rotate to different activities at the sound of the bell every 10 minutes. Students will also be able to rest periodically. The Winter Olympics will run until 3:00 p.m.
Our Winter Olympics will be dependent on the weather. If the temperature does not co-operate on Friday afternoon, Winter Olympics will be postponed to February 23rd, 2018. No matter what day the Winter Olympics runs, everything stated in this note will remain the same.
On Friday, February 9th, all students participating in Winter Olympics are asked to dress appropriately for the outdoor activities. Students will be outside for the majority of the afternoon. Students are asked to bring extra mitts and hats; in case they get wet. Bringing some extra clothing would also be a good idea!!
We are hopeful that Mother Nature is co-operative with us for our winter activities and that all students have a fun filled day!
Thank you for your continued support.
