Good afternoon, Wings Community on this glorious Labour Day Monday!
Tomorrow is back to school and the staff of St. Gabriel School can’t wait to welcome you back.  We hope you are as excited as we are to be back together in our amazing school.

A reminder that all students in grades 1 to 8 will meet their teacher at the back of the school on the paved area.  Other staff aside from teachers will also be walking around to help you get to your homeroom teacher so just ask someone if you are unsure of where to go. Teachers will also be walking around with a sign to help you locate the division you might be in.

We have several new teachers joining our team. Please join us in welcoming:

  • Alexis Knoop – JK/SK Teacher
  • Emma Hotzwik – Grade 2 Teacher
  • Sharon Fernandes – Grade 3 Teacher
  • Lynn Soobir – Grade 5 Teacher
  • Frankie Luzi – Grade 6/7 Teacher
  • Amy Figueiredo – Grade 8 Teacher
  • Sarah Zoschke-Antoine – Grade 8 Teacher
  • Carl Lisi – Grade 7/8 Teacher
  • Marie Danielle Daherot – FSL Teacher
  • Michelle Alvarado – FSL Teacher
  • Christina Kelemen – Spec Ed Teacher
  • Chantelle Restoule – ECE
  • Sandra Rothwell – Educational Assistant
  • Nancy Sobolewski – Administrative Assistant (Half Day)
A friendly reminder to our Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten students that tomorrow is NOT a regular school day for you.  Our Junior Kindergarten students and parents have scheduled interviews with the individual Kindergarten teachers and Senior Kindergarten Students have NO SCHOOL TOMORROW.  Instead, Senior Kindergarten students start on Wednesday, September 6th.

Mark Your Calendars Dragon Families

On Wednesday, September 20th, we will be having a Back to School Meet the Staff night. This evening is an opportunity for you and your family to socialize with one another, meet your child(ren)’s teacher and meet other staff members who will be part of your child(ren)’s education. More information will follow shortly with specific details pertaining to the evening.

Important Reminders

  • Please ensure you have returned the necessary medication and forms for any medical perils (anaphylaxis, asthma, diabetes, etc.) to the office. We ask for two inhalers/epi-pens so that one is kept with the student and the second is kept at the office.
  • Please update the Student Plan of Care if your child(ren) had one last year. Make the necessary changes and send it back to us signed.  Please note, that the plan of care is for life-threatening conditions only.
  • Please complete the various forms available on School Cash Online for EACH of your children.  These forms are necessary for such things as Chromebook use, permission to walk to church for mass, picture taking etc…  You need to ensure that all forms, even the read-only ones, are put into your ‘cart’ prior to checkout and you should receive a ‘thank you’ message to know you have completed the forms successfully. Please make sure you have completed all back-to-school forms by September 15th. This start-up information is very important, and we appreciate you taking the time to complete this as soon as possible.  https://wcdsb.schoolcashonline.com
  • This week, student verification forms will be sent home for parents to review. Please complete/update your child’s information as carefully and as quickly as possible and return the form to your child’s teacher.  It is vitally important that we have up-to-date information on every child. If any of your personal contact information changes throughout the year (phone numbers, address, etc.), please contact the office to let Mrs. Piche or Mrs. Sobolewski know
Have a glorious last day of your summer holidays Wings Nation.  See you tomorrow!
